God reveals knowledge of Himself through:
· His created universe
Psalm 19:1—The
heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the
work of His hands.
Romans 1:19-20—God
made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible
attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being
understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.
· His inspired Scriptures
Psalm 19:7-11—The
law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the LORD is
sure, making wise the simple. The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the
heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of
the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true; they
are righteous altogether. They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much
fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
Moreover, by them Thy servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
2 Peter 1:20-21—But
know this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own
interpretation, for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will, but men
moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.
· Lord Jesus Christ
John 14:7-11—‘If
you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; from now on you know
Him, and have seen Him.’
Philip said to
Him, ‘Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.’
Jesus said to him, ‘Have I been so long with you,
and yet you have not come to know Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the
Father; how do you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not believe that I am in
the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak
on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works. Believe Me
that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me; otherwise believe on account of
the works themselves.’
Hebrews 1:1-2—God,
after He spoke long ago to the fathers in the prophets in many portions and in
many ways, in these last days has spoken to us in His Son, whom He appointed
heir of all things, through whom also He made the world.
