“But someone will say, ‘you have faith and I have works.’ Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works” (James 2:18) and, “For as the body apart from the spiritis dead, so also faith apart from works is dead” (James 2:26).

The Holy Spirit

We often overlook the power of the Holy Spirit that God has personally placed within us. The Holy Spirit can do great work within us if we only recognize His presence. We actually have God’s spirit in us. It is an astounding concept. His spirit is infused in our being and can only work when we yield to His control and direction. You often hear a Christian say that they want “less of me and more of God” in their being. The Holy Spirit is there. He’s waiting for us to recognize Him as the third person of the Trinity, turn to His help, talk directly to Him, and yield to His guidance. We pray to God the Father, and always focus on Jesus, but too often we overlook calling on the Holy Spirit who is the third person of the Trinity who is IN us as our helper (And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever—John 14:16).
WHY WE HAVE THE HOLY SPIRIT.

GALATIANS 3:22-29
22 But the Scripture has confined all under sin, that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe. 23 But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. 24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
Sons and Heirs
26 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.
Romans 7:21-25
21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. 22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. 23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. 24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? 25 I thank God—through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God, but with the flesh the law of sin.
